We take a gentle walk through the park, marveling at the stunning vistas and the clear, icy waters of the Silfra fissure. And, there we finish our first stop on the Golden Circle route in Iceland.
Midday: Geysir and Gullfoss
Next, we head towards the Geysir geothermal area. The drive itself is a visual treat, with the landscape changing colors and textures. At Geysir, we witness the Strokkur geyser erupting, shooting water up to 30 meters in the air. It’s a spectacular display of nature’s power.
A short drive from Geysir is the majestic Gullfoss waterfall. The sight of the Hvítá river plummeting down a 32-meter crevice is breathtaking. We take some time to enjoy the views from various vantage points, feeling the mist on our faces.
