Lagoon Car Rental was founded in 2015 and originally operated as a car- and camper rental company in Iceland with its own car fleet. In the end of 2019 Lagoon Car Rental encountered difficult operational problems so when the Covid-19 pandemic hit the tourist industry in the beginning of 2020 the former owners made a decision to shut down the operation. In late 2021 things started to evolve in a new direction as new owners purchased the brand “Lagoon Car Rental” and the website www.lagooncarrental.is and all related rights.
Today Lagoon Car Rental is a rental car platform that should suit everybody travelling to Iceland. As such we have partnered up with Blue Car Rental, the largest 100% local car rental company in Iceland. All our customers will therefore be provided with a car from them and be provided with their excellent service level while in Iceland.
Our mission is to help travellers experience all the best Iceland has to offer by providing them with an easy and transparent booking platform, quick and personal service and of course quality rental cars that suits both those travelling on a budget, those who want their rental stripped from all insurance packages or those who want to enjoy a carefree vacation in Iceland with no liability.
